Sue White is a journalist and family travel expert

Sue White is a journalist and family travel expert. She is a member of the Australian Society of Travel Writers, and has had her travel writing published widely in Australia as well as internationally.

Sue’s travels have featured in The Sydney Morning Herald, Family Traveller, Out & About With Kids, Travel & Leisure, CNN Traveller, Jetstar’s inflight magazine, Tiger Tales (inflight magazine for Tigerair Australia), SilverKris (inflight magazine for Singapore Airlines) and countless others.

She is the founder of the Babies Who Travel website, providing travel tips for travel with newborns and infants, and is the community founder of the popular Kids Who Travel Facebook group, where thousands of parents share tips and advice about their upcoming travels.

Sue was an incessant traveller long before her own child (a now four-year-old) arrived, thanks to her own parents’ itchy feet. From her son’s birth she ignored comments from the masses that travel with children is “too hard”.  Instead, Sue took her baby son to Europe for two months; explored the Whitsundays, Queensland’s coastline, farm stays and campgrounds in his toddler years; and as he grew the pair added destinations including Fiji, Vietnam and Malaysia to their family’s adventures.

Sue believes that travel with children is not just possible, it can be enjoyable too. The key is partly good planning, and partly attitude: staying calm, positive and creative can get family travellers through almost any bind.
